Visitor Visa Extension

Visitor visa holders are required to apply for an extension at National Immigration Office within 14 days before the visitor visa expired.

✥ Documents required for a Visitor Visa extension application is as follows:

  1. Application form[download here] 申請表
    -Please ask your regional coordinator for it. Or click on above "download here" button.     
  1. Passport (original and one copy, including the resident visa; the original passport is for verification purposes only) 護照正本與影本
  2. Student ID (original and one front copy with stamp) 學生證
  3. Housing proof 住宿證明
    a. If you do not live on campus, please provide the rental housing contract along with your latest electricity bill with your landlord's name or your name.
    b. If you live on-campus dormitory, ask your regional coordinator for the document.
  4. Enrollment certificate 在學證明
    -Please ask your regional coordinator for the document.

✥ Working days for processing the visitor visa extension:

       It usually takes 1 working day to process the application. Failure to extend the visitor visa before the expiration date will result in automatic cancellation of the stay and mandatory deportation.

Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)

Resident visa holders are required to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) at National Immigration Office within 15 days after entry into Taiwan. They may stay in Taiwan as long as the ARC remains valid.

5. Housing proof 住宿證明

✥ There is an application fee of $1,000 NT (per time), and it takes 10 working days to process the application. Failure to extend the ARC before the expiration date will result in automatic cancellation of the ARC and mandatory deportation. Any resident alien (except for Overseas Chinese students) who applies for an ARC may complete an application for a reentry permit at the same time.
