[Korean Scholarship Information] 2025 Ministry of Education Korean Language Exchange Scholarship Selection
Eligible Partner Universities: Myongji University, Sookmyung Women's University (limited to sister schools)
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be eligible for selection:
- Must hold the nationality of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
- Must have achieved a score of 80 or above in any semester of Korean language coursework or have passed at least Level 2 of the Korean language proficiency test.
- Must be able to study abroad during the specified period. (At the time of recommendation, students' commitment to study in Korea should be thoroughly evaluated, including their ability to live independently, family support, the international situation involving North and South Korea, natural disasters, current pandemic status, etc.)
- Must be a current undergraduate student or a graduating senior who has never received this specific scholarship. Note: Graduating seniors are not eligible to choose Chonbuk National University as their preferred institution. Graduates are not eligible to apply.
- Must be recommended by their current university.
Internal Application Deadline: From now until May 12, 2025. All paper application materials must be submitted to Room 315, St. Joseph Hall.
Scholarship Duration: 6 months, from September 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026
Required Documents (2 copies each, in the following order):
- Application Form
- Korea University Mutual Language Training Scholarship Application Form
- Resume in Korean or English (maximum two A4 pages)
- Study Plan in Korean or English (maximum two A4 pages)
- Photocopies of official transcripts (in English) for all years of university study and above
- One letter of recommendation from a faculty member (in Korean or English)
- Proof of Korean course score (80 or above, must be marked on the transcript) or Level 2+ Korean proficiency test certificate. If the test results are pending, a written declaration may be submitted temporarily.
- Supporting documents for personal experiences or outstanding achievements (in Korean or English; optional if none)
Selection Process: University internal preliminary selection, followed by Ministry of Education secondary selection (document review + interview)
Result Announcement: Mid-June 2025
Note: Those selected by the Ministry of Education must complete the university's initial review process for overseas study in the 2025 academic year.
