April 1-13, 2023

April 2-6, 2023

Our personnel traveled to Hanoi, Vietnam to handle visa matters for new international students in the International Specialization Department. OIA team members, June Yang and Steven Su also visited our recruitment partners on the same day and held a study-in-Taiwan consultation session. Over 20 students attended the session.

April 6, 2023

President Lucia S. Lin, Dean of International Affairs, Philip Lin, and International Office staff member Alanda Chang visited Sunway University in Malaysia to sign an MOU and discuss potential affairs of collaboration. The professional fields of tourism, information technology, and management were among those discussed, with plans for course exchanges and short-term programs.

April 7, 2023

President Lucia S. Lin, Dean of International Affairs, Philip Lin, and OIA staff member Alanda Chang visited UCSI University in Malaysia to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the two schools. The proposed departments for collaboration are the Department of Cosmetic Science and the Department of Food and Nutrition in the College of Science (Providence University), and the GMBA program in the International College (Providence University). Potential collaboration models include joint research projects and the exchange of visiting scholars.

President Lucia S. Lin, alongside with Dean of International Affairs, Philip Lin visited Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to discuss potential areas of collaboration and departments, including opportunities for laboratory internships in the science faculty, exchange programs, and short-term courses.

The Chinese Department of the Eastern Asia University (EAU) organized a Lukang traditional art tour to provide an opportunity for 19 Thai students to experience Taiwanese local culture.

Providence University hosted a visit for the Vice President of Silliman University, Prof. Jane Annette, from the Philippines as part of the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA). Group discussion was held regards to alumni management, research development, green and intelligent sustainable technology.

Executing the New Southbound Policy - Marketing Video Shoot, planning to shoot a series of overseas promotional videos for schools, and presenting them in bilingual versions for multiple countries. The video is expected to be completed in June and then released for promotion.

April 17-21, 2023

Scholar Ieva Širvelytė from Vytauto Didžiojo Universitetas (VMU) visited our school for a week-long exchange and lectures through the Erasmus+ scholarship program. She gave three lectures in the English and Taiwanese departments, introducing Lithuanian history and culture to over 90 students, and also discussed potential future collaborations. In addition to academic exchange, the visiting scholars from our sister school also experienced the temples and traditional culture in Lukang, Changhua County. This is our school's first reception of EU sister school scholars after the pandemic, and we will also welcome scholars from Poland, France, and Hungary in the near future.

April 24, 2023

The Office of International Affairs led 19 Thai Chinese-language program students from Eastern Asia University to experience the Ecological Bottle Handicraft Course at Nantou Zhongxin New Village and Damaie Culture & Esthetics. This course allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan's nature and culture. Not only did it provide an opportunity to practice their skills, but it also allowed them to appreciate nature, understand the culture and way of life. The students will always remember this unforgettable experience and share what they have learned with their peers and families back home.
