May 15, 2021 Announcement: Due to the epidemic warning to be raised to level 3, countermeasures for the Online teaching, academic and student affairs are to start from May 17 to 30.

Online Teaching and Adjustment for Graduation Exams

1.    Due to the outbreak of the pandemic, Providence University will give online lectures starting from May 17 to 30. All teachers and students do not come to the campus for classes. Hand-on practice classes may postpone afterwards up to June 30. (Senior experimental classes need to complete before June 5.) 
2.    All teachers (full time and part-time) are required to arrange Teams for lectures synchronously, or pre-record Teams videos or e-Learning films asynchronously. The teachers are encouraged to provide PPT or PDF as supporting materials. Be sure to provide related lecture regulations to your students.
3.    The evaluation of final exam for senior students scheduled from May 24 to 28 should be fully discussed among the teachers and students. It could include online test (or oral exam), online presentation or written report. Be sure to be fair.

Campus Entry Control

1.    From May 17 to 30, students can enter the campus, but do not come to classrooms and avoid gatherings.
2.    Enter the campus by faculty/student ID card, entry permit or temporary pass. Check the temperature at the checkpoint. No visitors will be allowed to enter the campus.

Computer Labs

1.    During the online teaching, computer labs open in computer center R205 & R208(adjustable to the situation)
2.    Open hours: (A)08:00~12:00、(B)13:00~1700、(C)17:30~20:00       Checkboard seating observed in classrooms
3.    Please use your own earphone and microphone equipment during the distance learning.
4.    Put on your masks at all time while in the computer lab. Make sure to sanitize your hands with alcohol sanitizer thoroughly.

Virtual Meeting

All meetings from May 17 to 30 will be conducted via Teams or telecommunication means. Face-to-face meeting will be held depending on the confidentiality such as gender equality committee. Checkboard seating will be observed in that regard.

Faculty Evaluation

Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan notified that all site evaluation will be conducted virtually by Cisco Webex Meeting.
Faculties involved in the evaluation are to contact the interviewees (faculties/administrative personnel/ students/ graduates/industry representatives) and provide online meeting time and place accordingly.
Furthermore, to ensure a smooth flow, please setup earphones/microphones/laptops and web cams beforehand.
IT center will assist in the technical issues for the faculties under evaluation on Monday, May 17.

Continuing Education

Starting from May 17, College of Continuing Education will suspend face-to-face courses for two weeks until May 30th. (Overseas Youth Vocational Training School included)
Virtual courses will take place instead and other make-up plans would be possible.

Dine-in Services

Dine-in services will not be available during May 17 to May 30. All meal will be take-out only.

Student Association Activites

The following activities will be suspended during May 17 to May 30:
1.    All on-campus meetings (indoor or outdoor alike), seminars, workshops, heritage gatherings and showcases
2.    All excursions held by student associations such as training, hiking, tour, engagement in junior/elementary schools and community services.

The Counseling and Health Center continue to provide students for individual consultant.

Library

1.    No masks, no enter to the Library.
2.    The national document delivery service continues. The users will take the document onsite at the library, and the document will be delivered to those who are confirmed COVID-19 patients or on quarantine.  
3.    The course “Library and I” will be online using Teams. Please refer to the activity system to learn about the class schedule.

Business Trip for Faculty Members

Epidemic warning has raised to level 3 in Taipei and New Taipei areas from May 15 to 28. All the faculty members should not travel to those places for business, including those had approved. In case of necessity or emergency, be sure to get approval.
The above regulations are to be adapted for all level 3 warning areas.
