Kudos to senior Chinese Language instructor, Ms. Lin, Ming-Xue, for being awarded the 2020 Distinguished Teacher in TCSL. Honor to us all.

Ms. Lin, Ming-Xue, senior instructor from Chinese Language Education Center(CLEC) in Office of International Affairs, excels among competing candidates from more than 60 universities, and receives the 2020 Distinguished Teacher in TCSL (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language).

Graduated from Providence University, Ms. Lin, Ming-Xue has devoted herself to Chinese language teaching for more than 22 years. Her curriculum encompasses beginner, intermediate, and advance level, educating Chinese learning students and degree seeking students from approximately 30 nations. Ms. Lin, Ming-Xue was the supervisor of TOCFL, consulting teacher in the New Southbound Chinese Language Teacher Workshop at central district, instructor for Chinese Language Teacher Workshop for Thai teachers, member of Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu, and she runs at least two training sessions or workshops every year.

Lin’s teaching method is highly popular among students, and accumulates tremendous teaching outcome over time. She can fully provide substantial teaching contents depending on different students, may it be a total beginner, or a highly advanced learner. Each teaching evaluation from her students faithfully reflects the affirmation to Lin’s teaching outcome.

Ms. Lin, Ming-Xue receives the 2020 Distinguished Teacher in TCSL.

Years of hard work finally come to a ripe harvest. Lin humbly comments on the exceptional honor” I never thought I could stand out from all the other excellent applicants. I will continue to demand and temper myself carefully from now on.” What an admirable spirit!

Lin is one of the most substantial personnel in the CLEC. Her teaching experience and passion deeply affects the other members for the better. Under the joint effort together with Lin and all the other members, CLEC has won the favor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and thus invited to several Chinese language education outreach plans. Meanwhile, based on the solid foundation, the international college established Freshman Liberal Education Program for International Students, aiming to boost Chinese and English proficiency, cross-culture adaptability, and learning capacity for those international students in the pursue of degree in Taiwan. After a one-year intensive training, students’ Chinese proficiency and other capacities were noticeably improved. The development and outcome of CLEC couldn’t have been done without Lin and every other Chinese instructor
